JOURNAL POLICIES

 

The Pakistan Journal of Advances in Medicine and Medical Research (PJAMMR) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing in accordance with international guidelines (ICMJE, COPE, DOAJ, and WAME).


1-Publishing Schedule

PJAMMR is published on a biannual basis, with one volume comprising two issues per year: January – June and July – December.

2-Archiving, Copyright and Licensing

PJAMMR uses OJS and ensures long-term digital preservation through PKP Preservation Network (PKP PLN) and LOCKSS/CLOCKSS. Authors retain copyright under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.

3-Publication Ethics and Editorial Standards

PJAMMR adheres to internationally recognized ethical guidelines (COPE, ICMJE, DOAJ, WAME) to ensure transparency and accountability.

4-Research Ethics Approval

All research involving human or animal subjects must obtain prior approval from an Institutional Review Board (IRB/ERC) and comply with the Declaration of Helsinki.

Written informed consent must be obtained from all participants. Patient confidentiality must be strictly maintained.

6-Clinical Trial Registration

All clinical trials must be registered in a public registry (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov), and registration numbers must be included.

7-Authorship and Contributor-ship

Authorship must comply with ICMJE criteria. All authors must contribute substantially and approve the final manuscript.

8-Conflict of Interest

All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.

9-Data Sharing and Transparency

Authors are encouraged to share underlying data where possible and follow FAIR data principles.

10-Peer Review

PJAMMR follows a double-blind peer review process. Initial screening takes 2-4 weeks; expert review takes 2-6 weeks.

11-Research Reporting Guidelines

Authors must adhere to guidelines: CONSORT (Trials), STROBE (Observational), PRISMA (Reviews), CARE (Case Reports).

12-Plagiarism Policy

Manuscripts are screened via Turnitin/iThenticate. Acceptable similarity index: ≤19% (single source <5%).

13-AI and Publication Integrity

Authors must disclose the use of AI tools. AI cannot be listed as an author.

14-Corrections

Corrections (errata or corrigenda) will be issued for minor errors that do not affect the study's validity.

15-Withdrawal and Retraction

Articles may be withdrawn before publication. Retractions follow COPE guidelines for misconduct or unreliable data.

16-Advertising Policy

PJAMMR does not accept advertisements that compromise editorial independence or scientific integrity.

17-Appeals and Complaints

Authors may appeal editorial decisions. All cases are handled transparently and fairly.

`18-Article Processing Charges (APC)

PJAMMR does not charge any submission or publication fees (No APC).

19-Privacy and Confidentiality

The journal maintains strict confidentiality of personal data and submitted manuscripts.
