1. Publishing Schedule

PJAMMR is a biannual, peer-reviewed medical journal publishing two issues annually. Accepted articles are published online after completion of peer review, editorial processing, proofreading, and final approval.

2. Archiving, Copyright and Licensing

The Pakistan Journal of Advances in Medicine and Medical Research provides immediate open access to its published content in order to support the global exchange of scientific knowledge and promote unrestricted access to medical research.

All published articles are permanently archived to ensure long-term preservation, accessibility, and availability of scholarly content.

Digital Archiving

This journal is preserved through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to ensure long-term digital preservation and permanent access to published articles.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their published work while granting PJAMMR the right of first publication and distribution.

All articles published in PJAMMR are licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).

Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and confidential evaluations while disclosing conflicts of interest and maintaining professional integrity.

6. Double-Blind Peer Review Policy

PJAMMR follows a strict double-blind peer review process in which authors and reviewers remain anonymous to ensure unbiased academic evaluation.

All manuscripts undergo editorial screening, plagiarism assessment, and independent review by at least two expert reviewers.

7. Publication Misconduct

The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, and unethical research practices.

8. Research Ethics Approval

Research involving human participants or animals must receive prior approval from an Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee.

15. Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin and iThenticate to ensure originality and academic integrity.PJAMMR maintains a strict anti-plagiarism policy. Manuscripts with an overall similarity index exceeding 19% may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the nature and extent of overlap.In addition, no single source similarity should generally exceed 5%, excluding properly quoted text, references, standard methodology descriptions, and commonly used scientific terminology.

The journal strictly prohibits:

  • Plagiarism
  • Self-plagiarism
  • Duplicate publication
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Unattributed copying of text, figures, or tables

Cases of suspected plagiarism or publication misconduct will be handled in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and may result in manuscript rejection, correction, retraction, or notification to the affiliated institution where necessary.

16. AI and Publication Integrity

Authors must clearly disclose the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools or AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of manuscripts, including their use in language editing, content generation, image creation, data analysis, or literature summarization.

The disclosure should include the name of the AI tool and a brief description of how it was used within the study or manuscript preparation process.

Authors remain fully responsible for:

  • The accuracy and integrity of all submitted content
  • Proper citation and originality of the work
  • Verification of facts, references, and generated material
  • Compliance with ethical and publication standards

AI tools and software cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the originality, validity, integrity, or accountability of scholarly work.

The use of AI technologies for data fabrication, image manipulation, plagiarism, or misleading scientific content is strictly prohibited and may result in manuscript rejection or retraction in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

17. Corrections and Errata

Corrections and errata will be published for errors that do not invalidate the scientific findings.

Articles may be retracted in cases of plagiarism, ethical violations, duplicate publication, or fraudulent data.

23. Repository / Self-Archiving Policy

Authors are permitted to deposit, archive, and share the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, university archives, personal academic websites, and non-commercial scholarly platforms, provided that proper citation to the original publication in the Pakistan Journal of Advances in Medicine and Medical Research is clearly included.

Authors may also share their work for educational, research, and non-commercial purposes in accordance with the journal’s open access and licensing policies.

Any archived or redistributed version of the article must include:

  • Full bibliographic citation
  • Journal name
  • Volume and issue details
  • DOI or article link (where available)
  • A link to the official journal website or published version

Commercial redistribution or modification of published content without prior permission is not permitted under the journal’s licensing policy.
