Introduction
The rapidly evolving demands of modern organizations have highlighted resilience as a defining characteristic of institutional success. From a crisis in public health to economic volatility, technological change, and severe staffing shortages, resilient organizations adapt, recover, and continue to perform at a high level under pressure. Although there is operational and strategic resilience, there is stronger evidence that organizational resilience starts with the physiological and psychological resilience of the workforce. Various factors, such as human physiology, organizational behavior, and leadership, are interdependent and impact employee wellness, institutional flexibility, and organizational viability in the long term [1,2]. The biological underpinnings of brain function and performance, emotion, decision-making, and physical endurance are important. Sleep, nutrition, exercise, circadian rhythms, and stress management are all essential for optimal physiological functioning. These biological functions allow staff to focus, be creative, think, and communicate well during times of greater work demand. On the other hand, chronic occupational stress may contribute to the disruption of homeostasis through persistent activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, leading to increased cortisol production, a compromised immune system, altered sleep patterns, anxiety, and loss of cognitive function [3]. Such physiological alterations reduce productivity, increase absenteeism, and compromise institutional effectiveness.
